Negativity has no place for me
Positivitiy Has A Place For Me
Steps for figuring out if plants from seed are male or female:
1.) Label each plant from seed that you want to sex. (“Forbidden Fruit 1, Forbidden Fruit 2, Forbidden Fruit 3, etc. Honestly sometimes these get boring or tedious or hard to keep track of, so I’ll go with “Elise (forbidden Fruit), Kat (forbidden Fruit), Jeanne (Forbidden Fruit),” etc.)
2.) Grow the plant through it’s early seedling / transplant / clone stage into vegetative growth.
3.) As soon as the plant is in vegetative growth, take a cutting and label the cutting. (“Forbidden Fruit 1’s cutting, Elise’s cutting,” etc.)
4.) Root your cuttings into clones.
5.) 5-15 days into cloning process, your cuttings should have roots. When all cuttings have roots, immediately switch clone room to 24 hrs of darkness.
6.) Continue to water the cuttings under darkness for ~2 weeks, or until first signs of sex.
7.) Ta-da! Cuttings with female flowers are from female plants; cuttings with male flowers came from male plants. I.e., If Forbidden Fruit 1’s cutting makes male flowers, then Forbidden Fruit 1 is a male and can be culled from your garden, saving you the costly water and power during the lengthy vegetative growth and early flowering stages!
